IS 12823 specifies the requirements for pre-laminated particle boards bonded with urea-formaldehyde, melamine-formaldehyde or phenol-formaldehyde adhesives for use in furniture, modular interiors and panelling. The standard covers exterior- and interior-grade boards and prescribes formaldehyde emission, bond strength and surface durability.
