IS 4246 (Specification for domestic gas stoves for use with liquefied petroleum gases) is the Indian Standard covering construction, safety and performance requirements for LPG-fuelled domestic cooking stoves. IS 4246:2002 is enforced under the Domestic Gas Stoves for Use with Liquefied Petroleum Gases (Quality Control) Order, 2019 (S.O. 4345(E) dt 03-12-2019); covered goods must bear the BIS Standard Mark.
