The single most common error on this tariff line is treating all liquid-fuel stoves as a single BIS obligation and sourcing a CM/L against only one Indian Standard — typically IS 10109 — without confirming which sub-type each unit constitutes. A consignment containing multi-burner oil-pressure stoves requires CM/L coverage against IS 2787, not IS 10109; LPG domestic gas stoves require IS 4246:2002; and piped-natural-gas stoves require IS 17153:2019. A CM/L correctly licensed against one standard does not extend to units governed by a different standard, and customs detains the entire consignment on a standard-mismatch at the line-item level.
