IS 17880 specifies the requirements for cordage, twine, rope and made-up netting of polypropylene, nylon, polyester, coir, cotton and other fibres used in marine, fishing, packaging, agricultural and industrial applications. The standard governs fibre composition, lay, denier, breaking strength, elongation and knot retention.
