IS 15644 specifies the safety requirements for electric and electronic toys, prescribing battery-circuit limits, transformer construction, mechanical guarding and surface-temperature bounds. The standard applies to electrically operated toys for children up to fourteen years of age and aligns with the IS 9873 series for non-electric hazards.
