- 2During the concurrent-running window, confirm whether the supplier's R-number is registered against IS 13252 (Part 1):2010 or IS 616:2017 as an alternative to IS/IEC 62368 (Part 1):2023. For printers and MFDs (serial no. 65 goods), concurrent running is valid until 01-05-2026; for all other notified goods, it runs until 01-11-2028.Electronics and Information Technology Goods (Requirements of Compulsory Registration) Order, 2021 · S.O. 4997(E) dated 29-10-2025 · General Note 2(c) of the ITC (HS) Import Policy

The single most common error on this tariff line is presenting a BIS R-number registered against IS 13252 (Part 1):2010 or IS 616:2017 for a printer or MFD after the concurrent-running deadline of 01 May 2026, at which point only IS/IEC 62368 (Part 1):2023 remains valid for serial no. 65 goods. Importers who do not track the concurrent-running expiry date by product category will find their consignment detained at port with no valid BIS certification, even where the supplier's registration existed at the time of the purchase order.
