- 2Confirm whether the aluminium pipe fittings are capable of being used as consumer goods under the ITC (HS) import policy. If so, they are classified as Restricted consumer goods and require compliance with the applicable ITC (HS) policy condition before a bill of entry is filed.ITC (HS) import policy · DGFT Policy Circular 42/2015-2020 dated 27-07-2022
The most common error on this tariff line is filing the bill of entry without a live NFMIMS registration number — either because the importer applied too late or because the 75-day validity window expired between registration and vessel arrival. The minimum advance-registration window has been abolished (made zero days), so timing is flexible, but the registration must still be obtained and valid at the time of bill of entry; an expired or absent registration number results in consignment detention pending rectification.
