If the importer qualifies as a micro enterprise under the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Act, 2006, note that the QCO effective date is deferred to 01-04-2026, and for small enterprises to 01-01-2026. The single most common error on this tariff line is importing against IS 7902:2001 without confirming that the CM/L licence specifically covers aluminium alloy forging stock and forgings (alloy 24343) for the intended end-use. IS 7902:2001 is scope-specific to aerospace-grade forging stock; importers of general-purpose unwrought aluminium ingots for utensil manufacture must separately verify IS 21:1992 applicability. A CM/L under one standard does not substitute for a licence obligation under the other, and a scope mismatch detected at port results in detention regardless of the NFMIMS registration status.
