- 3If importing copper products (Chapter 74 or CTH 8544) from Nepal under the revised India-Nepal Treaty, confirm TRQ allocation from DGFT as the designated authority and comply with the allocation and monitoring procedure under paragraphs (i) to (xv) of DGFT Public Notice 17/2023 and para 2.92 of the HBP 2023.DGFT Public Notice 17/2023 dated 22-06-2023 · HBP 2023 para 2.92
The most common error on this tariff line is misreading the abolition of the 5-day minimum advance-registration window as permission to register after consignment arrival. NFMIMS registration must still precede arrival; the zero-day window means there is no mandatory lead time, not that post-arrival registration is permissible. An unregistered copper flakes consignment presenting at the port of import without a valid automatic registration number is liable to detention pending regularisation, and the 75-day validity clock begins from the date of registration, not the date of arrival.
