IS 16874 (Protective gloves for firefighters) is the Indian Standard specifying performance requirements for gloves worn during structural firefighting. IS 16874:2018 is applicable from 13-10-2023 under the Protective Textiles (Quality Control) Order, 2022 (S.O. 1707(E) dt 10-04-2023); covered goods must bear the BIS Standard Mark under Scheme-I of Schedule-II of the BIS (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.
