Parts of watch straps, bands and bracelets
HSN 9113 90 10 (Parts of watch straps, bands and bracelets) is subject to Wildlife Crime Control Bureau (WCCB) clearance under the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES), applicable where parts are derived from wildlife-protected materials such as reptile leather, ivory, or tortoiseshell. A CITES Certificate must be uploaded in e-Sanchit before customs out-of-charge.
- CITES Certificate from WCCB
- e-Sanchit upload confirmation from CBIC
- 1Obtain a valid CITES Certificate for the consignment where any component of the watch strap parts is derived from a CITES-listed species. Upload the certificate in e-Sanchit under document code 626000 before the bill of entry is filed for out-of-charge.CITES Certificate · document code 626000 · regulatory record CCR
- 2Verify at the time of purchase order that the foreign supplier holds the corresponding CITES export permit from the country of origin. Absence of the exporting-country CITES permit renders the Indian CITES import clearance invalid and the consignment liable to seizure.CITES import-export permit framework · WCCB clearance requirement per regulatory record CCR
The most frequent error on this tariff line is importing watch strap parts made from synthetic or base-metal materials and assuming WCCB clearance is inapplicable — without first verifying whether any sub-component (a clasp lining, a decorative inlay) contains wildlife-derived material. Customs proper officers are instructed to check e-Sanchit for document code 626000 on all PGA-facilitated bills; a missing CITES Certificate triggers consignment detention regardless of the proportion of wildlife-derived material in the finished part.
