Electronic fuses
Electronic fuses for circuits up to 1,000 volts
HSN 8536 10 60 (Electronic fuses) is subject to mandatory certification under the Mandatory Testing and Certification of Telecom Equipment (MTCTE) scheme administered by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), pursuant to the Indian Telegraph (Amendment) Rules, 2017 and DoT/TEC notifications as last amended by F.No.5-2/2024-TC/TEC (Pt.1) dated 25-02-2025. Importers must ensure the product figures on the notified list of telecom products requiring MTCTE certification before filing the bill of entry.
- MTCTE certification from DoT/TEC
- Conformance declaration from importer
- Type approval from TEC
- 1Verify that the electronic fuse model is listed under the notified MTCTE product categories and obtain the mandatory TEC type-approval certificate before shipment. The certification obligation arises under the Indian Telegraph (Amendment) Rules, 2017 as updated by DoT notification TEC/01/2017-TC dated 04-07-2019 and 23-06-2020.Indian Telegraph (Amendment) Rules, 2017 · DoT Notification TEC/01/2017-TC dated 04-07-2019 and 23-06-2020
- 2Confirm compliance with the revised MTCTE product list as amended by F.No.5-2/2021-TC/TEC/131 dated 13-06-2022 and F.No.5-2/2024-TC/TEC (Pt.1) dated 25-02-2025, and upload the valid TEC certificate in e-Sanchit prior to filing the bill of entry.DoT Notification F.No.5-2/2021-TC/TEC/131 dated 13-06-2022 · F.No.5-2/2024-TC/TEC (Pt.1) dated 25-02-2025
The most common error on this tariff line is importing electronic fuses without first confirming whether the specific model falls within the current MTCTE-notified product list — the list has been amended multiple times, most recently in February 2025, and a product not covered in an earlier iteration may have been added in a subsequent amendment. Presenting an MTCTE certificate issued against a superseded product-list version, or for a different model variant, will result in consignment detention pending fresh certification.
