The concurrent window differs by product serial number in the Schedule — IS 13252 and IS 616 are withdrawn for serial-no.-65 goods on 01-05-2026, and for all others on 01-11-2028 — and suppliers who have not yet migrated their R-number to IS/IEC 62368 (Part 1):2023 will trigger detention once the applicable withdrawal date passes. Verify the supplier's registered IS version against the correct serial-number category before the purchase order, not at port.

Does a single Compulsory Registration Scheme R-number cover all camera models from the same manufacturer?

No. The R-number is model-specific and facility-specific; camera models outside the registered model code, or produced at an unlicensed manufacturing location, are not covered and customs will detain the consignment on a mismatch with the BIS register.
