- 3Obtain EPR authorisation from the Central Pollution Control Board under Schedule I of the E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2022 before the bill of entry. The dual WPC-licence and MTCTE-certification track is the most common compliance gap on this tariff line: importers secure the WPC import licence but fail to check whether the specific transmitter model has been added to the MTCTE notified product list by a subsequent DoT amendment. The MTCTE list has been expanded by successive notifications, most recently on 25 February 2025, and a model not certified under TEC at the time of import is liable to detention and refusal of out-of-charge even when the WPC licence is current.
