Fuel, lubricating or cooling medium pumps for piston engines
HSN 8413 30 90 (fuel, lubricating or cooling medium pumps for internal combustion piston engines, other) is subject to Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) appliance labelling and compliance obligations under the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (Appliance Labeling and Compliance) Regulations, 2026. Importers must ensure conformance with the labelling scheme before the bill of entry is filed.
- Compliance declaration from BEE
- Energy label from BEE
- 1Ensure the imported pumps comply with the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (Appliance Labeling and Compliance) Regulations, 2026 issued vide Notification No. 5506/BEE/S&L/AL/2025-26 dated 26-12-2025. Obtain and affix the mandatory BEE energy label before the consignment is presented for customs clearance.BEE Notification No. 5506/BEE/S&L/AL/2025-26 dated 26-12-2025
- 2Upload all BEE compliance documentation in e-Sanchit at the bill of entry stage. Customs out-of-charge will not be granted until the proper officer confirms that the mandatory labelling and compliance evidence has been uploaded and verified.Bureau of Energy Efficiency (Appliance Labeling and Compliance) Regulations, 2026
The most common error on this tariff line is assuming that BEE labelling requirements apply only to finished consumer appliances and not to pumps used as components in industrial or automotive supply chains. The Regulations, 2026 apply at the import stage regardless of the intended downstream use; consignments lacking a conforming BEE label on arrival are liable to detention pending rectification, and retrospective labelling at port is not always accepted as compliant.
