Register the consignment on the Non-Ferrous Metals Import Monitoring System portal under Annexure-II (aluminium) before arrival, not earlier than 60 days before the expected date of arrival. Fee ₹500; the automatic registration number is valid for 75 days. The minimum 5-day advance requirement has been abolished.

If the importer qualifies as a micro enterprise under the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Act, 2006, the effective QCO compliance date is 01 April 2026; for small enterprises it is 01 January 2026.
