HSN 7318 11 90 (coach screws of iron or steel) is covered by two Bureau of Indian Standards Quality Control Orders. Conformity to applicable Indian Standards under the Bolts, Nuts and Fasteners QCO 2024 (S.O. 2771(E)) and the Cross Recessed Screws QCO 2025 (S.O. 3927(E)) is mandatory under the ISI Mark Scheme. Steel Import Monitoring System registration administered by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade applies as a separate customs-clearance overlay, and import is prohibited unless the CIF value is ₹129 or above per kg.

The two governing QCOs map distinct Indian Standards to distinct fastener categories — hexagon-head bolts under IS 1363 or IS 1364, high-strength structural bolts under IS 3757, cross-recessed screws under IS 18471, IS 18480, or IS 18509, and so on — and each standard is size-specific and property-class-specific. A mixed consignment where even one fastener variant lacks a matching, in-scope CM/L results in detention of the entire consignment at port.
