Lead crystal glassware for table, kitchen, or decorative use
HSN 7013 41 00 (lead crystal glassware for table, kitchen, toilet, office, or indoor decoration) is not covered by a Bureau of Indian Standards Quality Control Order and carries no Partner Government Agency clearance requirement at the tariff-line level. Import follows the standard customs procedure: Importer-Exporter Code (IEC), bill of entry, commercial invoice, packing list. Other glassware lines within Chapter 70 — including glass containers under heading 7010 and glass beads or decorative articles under heading 7018 — are expressly excluded from heading 7013 and may carry distinct classification treatment.
The primary risk at this tariff line is misclassification: glassware that does not meet the lead crystal specification, or that serves a non-decorative/non-tableware function, may be re-classified by customs to a different heading within Chapter 70. Re-classification on examination triggers retrospective compliance and can result in detention pending resolution. Importers should retain material composition certificates and end-use documentation to substantiate the lead crystal designation and the heading 7013 classification.
