A word of counsel

The most common error on this tariff line is assuming the azo-dye testing exemption for listed countries extends to all textile parameters in the PSIC — it does not. The exemption covers azo-dye presence testing only; the PSIC for composition, labelling, and other hazardous-substance parameters remains mandatory regardless of origin. Additionally, importers sourcing corselettes via Bangladesh as an intermediate transit or manufacturing country must separately evaluate the para 1 port restrictions under DGFT Notification 7/2025-26 even where the ultimate origin differs.
