HSN 6212 10 00 (Brassieres) is subject to ITC (HS) import policy administered by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), requiring a Pre-Shipment Inspection Certificate confirming the absence of prohibited hazardous azo dyes under General Note 10 of the ITC (HS) policy. Consignments originating from Bangladesh are additionally subject to port restrictions under DGFT Notification 7/2025-26 dated 17-05-2025.

- Test report from Textile Committee or CSRTI
- ITC (HS) policy compliance declaration to DGFT
- 1Obtain a Pre-Shipment Inspection Certificate (PSIC) from an accredited laboratory of the exporting country, or a valid test report from a Textile Committee (TC) or CSRTI laboratory, certifying the absence of prohibited hazardous azo dyes. Imports from EU, Serbia, Poland, Denmark, Australia, Canada, Japan, South Korea and the United Kingdom are exempt from azo-dye testing only.General Note 10 of the ITC (HS) Import Policy · DGFT Public Notice 14/2023 dated 14-06-2023
- 2For consignments originating from Bangladesh, verify compliance with the port restrictions and exemption conditions introduced under Para 19 of the General Notes by DGFT Notification 7/2025-26. Consignments not qualifying under the exemptions in Paras 2 and 3 of that notification must be routed through the specified permitted ports.DGFT Notification 7/2025-26 dated 17-05-2025, Para 19 of General Notes to ITC (HS) 2022
The azo-dye testing exemption is country-of-origin specific and applies only to the nine listed countries; importers sourcing brassieres from any other origin — including Bangladesh, China, Sri Lanka, or Vietnam — must present a valid PSIC or TC/CSRTI test report at the bill of entry. Presenting a certificate issued by an unaccredited laboratory, or one that covers a different garment category, is treated as non-compliance and can result in consignment detention and demurrage pending re-inspection.
