The most common error on this tariff line is assuming the azo-dye testing exemption extends to all origins. The exemption is strictly limited to nine named countries; consignments from all other origins — including Bangladesh and most of South Asia — require a current PSIC or valid Textile Committee test report, and arrival without that document triggers detention at port pending laboratory testing at the importer's cost. The Bangladesh port-restriction overlay under DGFT Notification 7/2025-26 operates independently of the PSIC requirement and must be assessed separately.
