Imports from EU, Serbia, Poland, Denmark, Australia, Canada, Japan, South Korea and the United Kingdom are exempt from azo-dye testing; all other origins must comply.

A word of counsel

The most common error on this tariff line is assuming the azo-dye PSIC exemption for listed countries extends to all documentation. The exemption covers azo-dye testing only; a PSIC covering fibre composition and other mandatory parameters remains required regardless of origin. Separately, the Bangladesh port-restriction regime under para 19 is recent and frequently overlooked — consignments routed through a non-permitted port face detention and ground rent pending re-routing or re-export.
