Consignments originating from Bangladesh are additionally subject to port restrictions under DGFT Notification 7/2025-26 dated 17 May 2025.

The most common error on this tariff line is assuming that the PSIC requirement applies only to woven textiles or higher-volume lines — it attaches to all textile and textile articles regardless of quantity or value, including knitted accessories. Importers sourcing from non-exempted origins who ship without a valid PSIC face consignment detention at the port of import and potential re-export at their cost; the country-of-origin exemption list is closed and cannot be extended by commercial arrangement.
