Knitted or crocheted ski suits of synthetic fibres
HSN 6112 20 40 (Of synthetic fibres — ski suits) is subject to the ITC (HS) import policy administered by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), with a mandatory Pre-Shipment Inspection Certificate (PSIC) covering prohibited hazardous azo dyes under General Note 10. DGFT Notification 7/2025-26 dated 17-05-2025 additionally imposes port restrictions on imports from Bangladesh under a new para 19 in the General Notes of ITC (HS) 2022.
- Pre-Shipment Inspection Certificate from accredited lab
- Test report from Textile Committee or CSRTI
- Policy compliance declaration from DGFT
- 1Procure a Pre-Shipment Inspection Certificate from an accredited laboratory of the exporting country, or a valid test report from a Textile Committee or CSRTI laboratory, certifying absence of prohibited hazardous dyes. Azo-dye testing is exempted only for imports originating from the EU, Serbia, Poland, Denmark, Australia, Canada, Japan, South Korea and the United Kingdom.General Note 10 of ITC (HS) import policy · DGFT Public Notice 14/2023 dated 14-06-2023
- 2If the consignment originates from Bangladesh, verify applicability of the port restrictions introduced under para 19 of the General Notes of ITC (HS) 2022. Confirm whether the goods fall within the exempted categories under paras 2 and 3 of DGFT Notification 7/2025-26, and route accordingly through permitted ports only.DGFT Notification 7/2025-26 dated 17-05-2025
The most frequent error on this tariff line is assuming that origin from an azo-dye-exempt country (such as an EU member state) dispenses with the PSIC requirement entirely. The azo-dye exemption covers only that specific test parameter; the PSIC for all other prohibited hazardous dyes and composition parameters remains mandatory regardless of origin. A consignment arriving without a valid PSIC or Textile Committee test report is liable to detention and ground rent accumulation pending re-examination.
