Of wool or fine animal hair
Knitted or crocheted ski suits of wool or fine animal hair
HSN 6112 20 20 (Ski suits of wool or fine animal hair) is subject to the ITC (HS) import policy administered by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), with woollen and blended textile imports governed by Notification No. CER (18)/99-CLB dated 7 March 1988 read with the Textile (Development & Regulation) Order, 2001 under the Essential Commodities Act, 1955. A Pre-Shipment Inspection Certificate certifying textile composition and azo-dye absence, a certificate of origin, and a brand-owner authenticity certificate are required at the bill of entry under General Notes 10 and 11 of the ITC (HS) policy.
- Pre-Shipment Inspection Certificate from accredited laboratory
- Certificate of origin from exporter
- Brand-owner authenticity certificate from brand owner
- 1Obtain a Pre-Shipment Inspection Certificate (PSIC) from an accredited laboratory of the exporting country certifying the composition of the woollen or blended textile. The PSIC must accompany the consignment at the bill of entry; customs out-of-charge will not be given without this document.General Note 11 of ITC (HS) Import Policy · Notification No. CER (18)/99-CLB dated 07-03-1988 · Textile (Development & Regulation) Order, 2001
- 2Accompany the consignment with a separate PSIC or valid test report from a Textile Committee (TC) or CSRTI laboratory certifying absence of prohibited hazardous azo dyes. Testing for azo-dye presence is exempted only for imports from the EU, Serbia, Poland, Denmark, Australia, Canada, Japan, South Korea, and the United Kingdom.General Note 10 of ITC (HS) Import Policy · DGFT Public Notice 14/2023 dated 14-06-2023
- 3Attach a certificate of origin and a certificate from the brand owner certifying the genuineness of the product, markings thereon, and the importer's authority to use the brand name. Additionally, verify whether the consignment originates from Bangladesh: if so, confirm applicability of port restrictions under Para 19 of the General Notes as introduced by DGFT Notification 7/2025-26 dated 17-05-2025.General Note 11 of ITC (HS) Import Policy · DGFT Notification 7/2025-26 dated 17-05-2025
The most common error on this tariff line is presenting only the azo-dye PSIC and overlooking the separate wool-composition PSIC and the brand-owner authenticity certificate — all three are independent documents mandated under General Notes 10 and 11, and the absence of any one triggers consignment detention. Importers sourcing from Bangladesh must additionally confirm whether the goods fall within the exempted categories under Paras 2 and 3 of DGFT Notification 7/2025-26 before nominating a port of discharge, as non-exempted Bangladesh-origin goods are subject to the port restrictions stated in Para 1.
