Knitted or crocheted track suits, ski suits and swimwear of silk
HSN 6112 19 10 (Track suits, ski suits and swimwear of silk, knitted or crocheted) is subject to the ITC (HS) import policy administered by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), which mandates a Pre-Shipment Inspection Certificate confirming absence of prohibited hazardous azo dyes. Consignments originating from Bangladesh are additionally subject to port restrictions under DGFT Notification 7/2025-26 dated 17-05-2025.
- Pre-Shipment Inspection Certificate from accredited lab
- Test report from Textile Committee or CSRTI
- ITC (HS) policy compliance from DGFT
- 1Obtain a Pre-Shipment Inspection Certificate from an accredited laboratory of the exporting country, or a valid test report from a Textile Committee or CSRTI laboratory, certifying absence of prohibited hazardous azo dyes. Testing for azo dyes is exempted only for imports originating from EU, Serbia, Poland, Denmark, Australia, Canada, Japan, South Korea and the United Kingdom.General Note 10 of the ITC (HS) Import Policy · DGFT Public Notice 14/2023 dated 14-06-2023
- 2If the consignment originates from Bangladesh, verify compliance with DGFT Notification 7/2025-26 dated 17-05-2025, which introduces Para 19 to the General Notes regulating import of certain goods from Bangladesh with specified port restrictions. Confirm whether the goods fall under the exempted categories listed in Para 2 and Para 3 of that notification.DGFT Notification 7/2025-26 dated 17-05-2025, Para 19 of General Notes, ITC (HS) 2022
The most common error on this tariff line is assuming that the azo-dye testing exemption for named countries eliminates the PSIC requirement entirely. The exemption applies only to the azo-dye test; the Pre-Shipment Inspection Certificate for other composition and quality parameters remains mandatory for all origins. Separately, importers sourcing from Bangladesh must confirm port eligibility under DGFT Notification 7/2025-26 before shipment, as routing through a non-permitted port exposes the consignment to detention and re-export.
