Knitted or crocheted men's shirts of other textile materials
HSN 6105 90 90 (men's or boys' shirts, knitted or crocheted, of other textile materials) is subject to Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) import-policy controls under the ITC (HS) classification; woollen and blended textile components within this residual category are additionally governed by the Textile (Development & Regulation) Order, 2001 read with the Essential Commodities Act, 1955. A Pre-Shipment Inspection Certificate certifying textile composition and confirming absence of prohibited hazardous azo dyes is mandatory for all consignments, subject to country-of-origin exemptions.
- Pre-Shipment Inspection Certificate from accredited laboratory
- Certificate of Origin from exporter
- Brand-owner authenticity certificate from brand owner
- 1Accompany every consignment with a Pre-Shipment Inspection Certificate (PSIC) from an accredited laboratory of the exporting country, or a valid test report from a Textile Committee or CSRTI laboratory, certifying the absence of prohibited hazardous azo dyes. Testing is exempted only for imports originating from EU, Serbia, Poland, Denmark, Australia, Canada, Japan, South Korea and the United Kingdom.General Note 10 of the ITC (HS) Import Policy · DGFT Public Notice 14/2023 dated 14-06-2023
- 2For consignments containing woollen or blended textiles, additionally obtain a PSIC certifying the textile composition, a Certificate of Origin, and a certificate from the brand owner confirming the genuineness of the product and markings and granting authority to use the brand name. These requirements apply under General Note 11 of the ITC (HS) policy read with the Textile (Development & Regulation) Order, 2001.Notification No. CER(18)/99-CLB dated 07-03-1988 · Textile (Development & Regulation) Order, 2001 · Essential Commodities Act, 1955 · General Note 11 of the ITC (HS) Import Policy
- 3Check applicability of DGFT Notification 7/2025-26 dated 17-05-2025 regarding Para 19 of the ITC (HS) General Notes, which imposes port restrictions on the import of certain goods from Bangladesh. Confirm whether this consignment falls within the restricted category or the exempted goods listed in Para 2 and Para 3 of that notification before routing.DGFT Notification 7/2025-26 dated 17-05-2025 · Para 19 of General Notes, ITC (HS) 2022
The most frequent error on this residual tariff line is applying only the azo-dye PSIC and overlooking the distinct wool-and-blends documentation cluster — composition certificate, Certificate of Origin, and brand-owner authenticity certificate — triggered whenever the fabric contains any woollen or blended content. Customs officers routinely detain consignments under General Note 11 where the PSIC covers dye testing but is silent on fibre composition; a single combined PSIC that addresses both azo-dye absence and fibre composition from an accredited laboratory resolves both obligations simultaneously.
