- 2If the consignment originates from Bangladesh, confirm applicability of DGFT Notification 7/2025-26 dated 17 May 2025 and ensure the port of import complies with the port restrictions introduced under paragraph 19 of the General Notes. Review paragraphs 2 and 3 of that notification to determine whether an exemption applies to the specific goods.DGFT Notification 7/2025-26 dated 17-05-2025 · Para 19, General Notes, ITC (HS) 2022
The most common error on this tariff line is assuming that a test report from the foreign supplier's in-house laboratory satisfies the PSIC requirement. The General Note 10 mandate specifies an accredited laboratory of the exporting country or a Textile Committee/CSRTI report; an unaccredited supplier certificate will not secure out-of-charge and exposes the consignment to detention and demurrage pending re-testing. Importers sourcing from Bangladesh should separately verify whether the new paragraph 19 port restrictions affect their nominated port before vessel departure.
