Knitted or crocheted women's outerwear of other fibres
HSN 6102 90 90 (Other knitted or crocheted women's outerwear) is subject to import policy controls administered by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) under the ITC (HS) 2022, including a Pre-Shipment Inspection Certificate requirement for hazardous azo-dye absence under General Note 10. Imports originating from Bangladesh are additionally subject to port restrictions and exemption conditions under DGFT Notification 7/2025-26 dated 17-05-2025.
- Pre-Shipment Inspection Certificate from accredited lab
- Test report from Textile Committee or CSRTI
- ITC (HS) policy declaration from DGFT
- 1Obtain a Pre-Shipment Inspection Certificate (PSIC) from an accredited laboratory of the exporting country, or a valid test report from a Textile Committee (TC) or CSRTI laboratory, certifying the absence of prohibited hazardous azo dyes. Imports from EU, Serbia, Poland, Denmark, Australia, Canada, Japan, South Korea and the United Kingdom are exempt from azo-dye testing only.General Note 10 of the ITC (HS) Import Policy · DGFT Public Notice 14/2023 dated 14-06-2023
- 2For consignments originating from Bangladesh, verify applicability of Para 19 of the General Notes introduced by DGFT Notification 7/2025-26 dated 17-05-2025, which imposes port restrictions on certain goods imported from Bangladesh. Confirm whether the goods fall under the exempted categories listed in Paras 2 and 3 of that notification before routing the shipment.DGFT Notification 7/2025-26 dated 17-05-2025, Para 19 of General Notes, ITC (HS) 2022
The most frequent error on this tariff line is assuming the azo-dye testing exemption for listed countries also waives the PSIC for other textile parameters — it does not. The country-of-origin exemption applies solely to azo-dye testing; a PSIC covering composition and other prohibited substances remains mandatory regardless of the exporting country. Importers sourcing from Bangladesh must additionally confirm port eligibility under DGFT Notification 7/2025-26 before vessel booking, as routing to a non-notified port renders the consignment liable to detention.
