Printed
Printed other knitted or crocheted fabrics
HSN 6006 34 00 (Printed knitted or crocheted fabrics) is subject to the ITC (HS) import policy administered by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), which requires a Pre-Shipment Inspection Certificate (PSIC) from an accredited laboratory of the exporting country, or a valid test report from a Textile Committee or CSRTI laboratory, certifying the absence of prohibited hazardous azo dyes. Imports from EU, Serbia, Poland, Denmark, Australia, Canada, Japan, South Korea and the United Kingdom are exempt from azo-dye testing only, under General Note 10 of the ITC (HS) Import Policy.
- Pre-Shipment Inspection Certificate from exporter
- Test report from Textile Committee
- ITC (HS) policy compliance from DGFT
- 1Obtain a Pre-Shipment Inspection Certificate from an accredited laboratory of the exporting country, or a valid test report from a Textile Committee (TC) or Central Sheep and Wool Research Institute (CSRTI) laboratory, certifying the absence of prohibited hazardous dyes before the bill of entry is filed.General Note 10 of the ITC (HS) Import Policy · DGFT Public Notice 14/2023 dated 14-06-2023
- 2Verify the country of origin before filing: the exemption from azo-dye testing applies only to imports from EU, Serbia, Poland, Denmark, Australia, Canada, Japan, South Korea and the United Kingdom. For all other origins, the PSIC or valid test report is mandatory and its absence will prevent customs out-of-charge.General Note 10 of the ITC (HS) Import Policy · DGFT Public Notice 14/2023 dated 14-06-2023
The most common error on this tariff line is assuming the azo-dye testing exemption applies to all origins. The exemption is limited to nine specified countries; a consignment from any non-listed origin without a PSIC or valid TC/CSRTI test report will be detained at the port pending document compliance, attracting demurrage and ground rent. The PSIC covers azo-dye absence specifically — other composition and quality parameters may independently require documentation under General Note 10.
