Other, of yarns of different colours
Warp knit fabrics of yarns of different colours
HSN 6005 38 00 (Other warp knit fabrics of yarns of different colours) is subject to the ITC (HS) import policy administered by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), which requires a Pre-Shipment Inspection Certificate covering the absence of prohibited hazardous azo dyes under General Note 10 of the ITC (HS) policy. The PSIC must originate from an accredited laboratory of the exporting country or carry a valid test report from a Textile Committee or CSRTI laboratory.
- Pre-Shipment Inspection Certificate from accredited lab
- Test report from Textile Committee
- ITC (HS) policy declaration from DGFT
- 1Obtain a Pre-Shipment Inspection Certificate from an accredited laboratory of the exporting country, or a valid test report from a Textile Committee or CSRTI laboratory, certifying the absence of prohibited hazardous azo dyes before the consignment is dispatched. This requirement applies to all origins except those expressly exempt.General Note 10 of the ITC (HS) Import Policy · DGFT Public Notice 14/2023 dated 14-06-2023
- 2Confirm whether the country of origin qualifies for the azo-dye testing exemption. The exemption applies only to imports from EU member states, Serbia, Poland, Denmark, Australia, Canada, Japan, South Korea, and the United Kingdom; all other origins must submit the PSIC regardless of fabric composition.General Note 10 of the ITC (HS) Import Policy · DGFT Public Notice 14/2023 dated 14-06-2023
The most common error on this tariff line is assuming the azo-dye exemption applies broadly because the exporting country is a major textile supplier. The exemption list is closed — EU, Serbia, Poland, Denmark, Australia, Canada, Japan, South Korea, and the United Kingdom only — and a missing PSIC from any non-listed origin will result in consignment detention at the port pending production of a compliant test report.
