Other, unbleached or bleached
Warp knit fabrics, unbleached or bleached, synthetic
HSN 6005 36 00 (Other, unbleached or bleached warp knit fabrics) is subject to the ITC (HS) Restricted-import policy administered by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), with a Minimum Import Price (MIP) of US$ 3.5 per kilogram operative until 31 March 2026. Fabrics in the 28 to 48 grams per square metre (gsm) range are exempt from the MIP condition, and a Pre-Shipment Inspection Certificate covering azo-dye absence is required under General Note 10 of the ITC (HS) policy.
- MIP-compliant declaration from DGFT
- Pre-Shipment Inspection Certificate from exporter
- Test report from Textile Committee
- 1Verify that the consignment CIF value is at or above US$ 3.5 per kilogram before filing the bill of entry, unless the fabric falls within the 28 to 48 gsm range, which is exempt from the MIP condition. The MIP is operative until 31 March 2026; an MIP-deficient consignment triggers Restricted-import enforcement under the ITC (HS) policy.DGFT Notification 46/2025-26 dated 21-10-2025 · DGFT Notification 05/2025-26 dated 23-04-2025 · S.O. 1839(E) dated 23-04-2025
- 2Accompany the consignment with a Pre-Shipment Inspection Certificate from an accredited laboratory of the exporting country, or a valid test report from the Textile Committee or CSRTI, certifying absence of prohibited azo dyes. Imports from EU, Serbia, Poland, Denmark, Australia, Canada, Japan, South Korea and the United Kingdom are exempt from azo-dye testing only.General Note 10 of the ITC (HS) Import Policy · DGFT Public Notice 14/2023 dated 14-06-2023
- 3If importing as an Advance Authorisation holder, Export Oriented Unit, or SEZ unit, document the end-use restriction confirming that imported inputs will not be sold into the Domestic Tariff Area. DTA diversion converts the original import into an unauthorised Restricted-policy breach attracting retrospective MIP recovery and DGFT enforcement.DGFT Notification 46/2025-26 dated 21-10-2025 · DGFT Notification 05/2025-26 dated 23-04-2025
The most common error on this tariff line is overlooking the gsm-range carve-out: fabrics between 28 and 48 gsm are exempt from the MIP condition, but they remain Restricted-import goods requiring a valid PSIC for azo-dye compliance — the gsm exemption does not discharge the testing obligation. Importers who ship above-MIP-value fabric without a PSIC face detention at port and potential confiscation, regardless of price compliance.
