The most common error on this tariff line is filing the bill of entry without a live PIMS Registration Number — either because the application was submitted outside the 75-to-5-day window or because the 75-day validity lapsed before the vessel arrived. A bill of entry that references an expired or absent Registration Number is rejected for out-of-charge, triggering detention, demurrage, and ground rent at the port. Multiple bills of entry can be filed against a single Registration Number within the validity period, but only up to the permitted quantity declared at registration.
