The most common error on this tariff line is importing for a non-insecticidal purpose — such as pharmaceutical research or synthesis — without securing a separate import permit from the Registration Committee under the Insecticides Act, 1968. A CIB&RC registration certificate issued for insecticidal use does not authorise non-insecticidal imports; the two tracks require distinct authorisations, and a consignment arriving without the correct permit class is liable to detention and confiscation regardless of its intended downstream use.
