The most common error on this tariff line is treating the CWC State-Party condition as a pre-shipment formality and neglecting the mandatory post-import notification window. The 30-day notification obligation to the National Authority CWC, Ministry of External Affairs, Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals, and DGFT — along with submission of the bill of entry copy to DGFT — is a continuing compliance obligation after out-of-charge; failure to notify within 30 days constitutes a separate CWC Act violation independent of whether the import itself was lawfully cleared at the port.
