The most common error on this tariff line is assuming palmitic acid falls outside the Insecticides Act, 1968 Schedule without verifying the current Schedule listing — items under CTI 2915 70 10 may or may not figure in it depending on formulation and use. Importing without CIB&RC registration when the substance is listed constitutes a contravention of the Insecticides Act, 1968, attracting seizure and prosecution; the CIB&RC permit must be confirmed well before the vessel is dispatched because notified import locations are also restricted under Rule 45.
