The most common error on this tariff line is assuming that a CIB&RC registration certificate is transferable across import sources. The registration committee specifies the permitted source of supply on the face of the certificate, and consignments arriving from any unlisted supplier — even if chemically identical — are treated as unregistered imports under the Insecticides Act, 1968, attracting detention and potential confiscation regardless of the importer's bona fides. Verify source-of-supply alignment between the purchase order and the CIB&RC certificate before placing the overseas order.
