A word of counsel

The most common error on this tariff line is filing a bill of entry without first confirming which of the two primary regulatory tracks — CIB&RC under the Insecticides Act, 1968, or NDPS under the NDPS Rules, 1985 — governs the specific substance, since many nitro-group derivatives straddle both schedules. A consignment cleared under only one track when both apply is liable to detention and seizure under the un-addressed Act. Confirm the substance identity against both the Insecticides Act Schedule and the NDPS schedules before vessel departure.

Does HSN 2904 20 90 require BIS certification?
No, no BIS Quality Control Order covers nitro or nitroso derivatives of hydrocarbons.
