A word of counsel

The most common error on this tariff line is treating the FSSAI Import Licence as the sole clearance document and arriving at port without the AQCS Sanitary Import Permit IRN. The AQCS clearance is independent of the FSSAI food-safety licence and is mandatory under Circular 24/2022-Cus; a consignment presenting a current FSSAI licence but without the 911DF1 IRN quoted on the bill of entry will be detained pending AQCS NOC, accruing demurrage and ground rent while cold-chain integrity deteriorates.
