The challenge — dual oversight, high stakes, time-critical execution

High-pressure seamless gas cylinders required compliance with two independent bodies with separate inspection mandates, BIS Indian Standards and PESO safety regulations. The project involved design approval, prototype batch manufacturing under joint supervision, in-process quality demonstration and live inspection by BIS and PESO simultaneously. A rejection was also issued during the project, requiring strategic recovery.

Our approach — hands-on, strategic, end-to-end

Application management & technical submissions

• We carried out end-to-end management of parallel BIS and PESO applications. Prepared design calculations and engineering drawings aligned to both regulatory frameworks.

Rejection recovery & strategic response

• Upon rejection by BIS, we developed a structured technical response and engaged directly with PESO Office, Nagpur for issue a resolution recovering the project within timeline.

Factory readiness programme

• Conducted preparatory factory audits prior to joint inspection. Guided the client on prototype batch production, process control, in-process testing and jig/fixture requirements.

Live inspection support

• Provided on-ground planning and execution support during the joint BIS–PESO inspection — resolving compliance gaps in real time to ensure a successful inspection outcome.

Product marking & documentation

• Advisory on IS 7285 and PESO Gas Cylinder Rules marking compliance. Maintained continuous liaison with both authorities until licence grant.
