Other
Beryllium, chromium, hafnium, rhenium, thallium and related minor metals, other forms
HSN 8112 29 00 (other forms of beryllium, chromium, hafnium, rhenium, thallium, cadmium, germanium, vanadium, gallium, indium, and niobium) is not covered by a Bureau of Indian Standards Quality Control Order and carries no Partner Government Agency clearance requirement at the tariff-line level. Import follows the standard customs procedure: Importer-Exporter Code (IEC), bill of entry, commercial invoice, packing list. Other tariff lines within Chapter 81 covering unwrought metal, waste, or scrap forms of these same metals may attract separate classification and, depending on the metal, environmental or hazardous-goods controls.
Chapter 81 contains parallel lines for unwrought metal, powders, waste, and scrap — each classified separately — and customs re-classification from one form to another can trigger retrospective duty recovery and detention. Cadmium and thallium, in particular, may attract environmental controls under other regulatory frameworks depending on end-use declaration; the absence of compliance at this tariff line does not override those obligations. Confirm the precise metal, its physical form, and intended use against the customs tariff before relying on the absence of compliance here.
