Hollow bars
Nickel alloy hollow bars
HSN 7505 12 10 (nickel alloy hollow bars) is not covered by a Bureau of Indian Standards Quality Control Order and carries no Partner Government Agency clearance requirement at the tariff-line level. Import follows the standard customs procedure: Importer-Exporter Code (IEC), bill of entry, commercial invoice, packing list. Other nickel bars, rods, profiles, and wire classified elsewhere within Chapter 75 — particularly those of unalloyed nickel or in solid rather than hollow form — may attract different classification outcomes and should be verified independently.
The principal risk at this tariff line is misclassification: hollow bars of unalloyed nickel are classified separately from nickel alloy hollow bars, and customs re-examination of alloy composition or product form can trigger re-classification to a sibling line within Chapter 75. A re-classification on examination results in detention pending resolution and potential retrospective duty recovery. Importers should ensure that mill test certificates and chemical composition reports accompany the shipment and accurately reflect the declared alloy grade.
