The single most common error on this tariff line is assuming that the Steel and Steel Products QCO 2024 (S.O. 3716(E)) is the sole operative order, while overlooking the Ropes and Cordages QCO 2024 (S.O. 4327(E)) which specifically governs IS 1804:2004 and carries its own enforcement date of 01 April 2025. Additionally, the deferred enforcement under S.O. 5134(E) applies only to the serial numbers expressly listed therein — importers must confirm whether their specific IS entry is among those deferred before concluding that enforcement has been suspended, as an incorrect deferral assumption will result in port detention for unmarked consignments.
