The most common error on this tariff line is overlooking the concurrent applicability of two Quality Control Orders — the Steel and Steel Products QCO, 2024 (S.O. 3716(E)) and the Ropes and Cordages QCO, 2024 (S.O. 4327(E)) — both referencing IS 1804, with the latter's enforcement commencing 01 April 2025. Importers who verify CM/L coverage against one QCO without confirming it extends to the other applicable order face detention when customs maps the bill of entry to the second instrument. Confirm in writing with the supplier that their CM/L licence scope explicitly covers the product under both notified QCO instruments.
