The single most consequential oversight on this tariff line is failing to identify the specific IS number assigned in Schedule 1 of S.O. 3716(E) to this residual 'Other' subheading before sourcing. Because the structured IS number is not carried in the tariff record itself, importers frequently proceed on a generic CM/L and discover at port that the licensed scope does not match the scheduled standard — triggering detention under Section 17 of the BIS Act, 2016 and mandatory disposal of sub-standard product as scrap. Separately, note that S.O. 5134(E) dated 20-11-2025 suspended enforcement of specified serial numbers in Schedule 1 for one year from gazette date; verify whether the IS assigned to this CTI falls within those suspended serial numbers before committing to a CM/L sourcing strategy.
