HSN 7225 19 90 (flat-rolled products of other alloy steel, width 600 mm or more) is covered by a Bureau of Indian Standards Quality Control Order under the Steel and Steel Products Quality Control Order, 2024. Conformity to the Indian Standard mapped in Schedule 1 of S.O. 3716(E) is mandatory under the ISI Mark Scheme with effect from 29 August 2024. Steel Import Monitoring System registration administered by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade applies as a separate customs-clearance overlay.

The most consequential oversight on this tariff line is failing to cross-reference the Schedule 1 serial-number entries suspended under S.O. 5134(E): if this product's specific IS entry falls within serial numbers 49, 50, 60, 64, 86, 92, 93, 94, 102, 128, 132, 135, or 137, enforcement is suspended for one year from 20 November 2025. Importers who source non-CM/L-certified material assuming a blanket suspension apply — when the entry does not appear in that list — face consignment detention and potential confiscation at port for import without the required standard mark.
