The single most common error on this tariff line is assuming that the suspension of specific Schedule 1 serial-number entries under S.O. 5134(E) dated 20-11-2025 — which defers enforcement for certain listed items by one or three years — exempts HSN 7222 19 19 stainless steel bars and rods from QCO compliance entirely. The suspension is serial-number-specific; entries not enumerated in S.O. 5134(E) remain fully operative from 29 August 2024. Importers must confirm whether the IS mapped to this specific product code appears among the suspended entries before concluding that the BIS CM/L requirement does not apply to their consignment.
