The most frequent compliance failure on this tariff line is presenting a CM/L licence whose product-scope does not extend to the corrugated narrow-strip form factor. A licence against a parent standard covering hot-dip galvanised sheet in widths of 600 mm or more does not automatically cover the sub-600 mm corrugated category at HSN 7212 30 10; customs will treat the narrower product as unlicensed, triggering detention and potential re-export or confiscation under Section 17 of the BIS Act, 2016. Verify that the supplier's CM/L specifically covers the corrugated and sub-600 mm strip dimension before shipment.
