The acute risk on this tariff line is importing under a CM/L licence whose Indian Standard serial number falls within the Schedule 1 deferral list under S.O. 5134(E) — the operative standard is suspended for three years from gazette publication, meaning customs may reject the BIS marking documentation as referencing a currently non-operative entry. Verify the exact Schedule 1 serial number mapped to this HSN against the S.O. 5134(E) deferral list before shipment; a consignment arriving with marking against a deferred serial is treated as non-compliant, triggering detention and potential disposal as scrap.
