The most common error on this tariff line is assuming that a supplier's general steel CM/L licence covers chromium-oxide-coated flat-rolled product — the CM/L scope is product-specific and must explicitly cover this coated surface treatment under the mapped Schedule 1 standard. A licence issued against a different flat-rolled or coated-steel IS does not satisfy S.O. 3716(E) for this CTI, and customs detention follows regardless of SIMS registration status. Verify the Schedule 1 standard mapping and the licensed product description against this CTI before the purchase order, not at port.
